Performance driver training

 

Aimed At:

Anyone who enjoys driving and wants to explore the capabilities of their vehicle.

Location:

Any location, on road or proving ground/airfield.

Duration:

2 day or 1 day or half day sessions.

Driver/Trainer Ratio

2:1 or 1:1

Aims:

To bring the enjoyment back into driving, to understand vehicle dynamics.

Objectives:

At the end of the session drivers will:

  • Show an appreciation of the role hazard recognition has in accident avoidance.
  • Show an understanding of advanced planning and anticipation.
  • Have a good understanding of 'roadcraft' and 'car control'.
  • Understand the concept of weight transfer, vehicle balance and grip.
  • Understand the cause and correction of skids.

Method:

By use of theory and practical coaching with the various subjects being demonstrated by one of Xcel's dedicated consultants. Using public roads focusing on national speed limit A and B roads, also using proving grounds such as Millbrook proving ground in order to explore the limits of your performance vehicle. Xcel will build the drivers techniques including advanced road driving techniques to focusing on car control in detail. If desired the customer could then go on to complete an advanced driving course such as 'Rospa' or 'The Institute of advanced motorist' advanced driving test with the help of Xcel's driving consultants.
